Last Saturday my boss spend her day to stroll around a MEGA flea market.
She's a real flea-market-junkie, but I think you already knew that.
She came home with a few treasures and one of them was my new: SOFT PLUSH BALL!!
This ball almost ripped out my bosses last pocket money as it was sold for:
Duhhh...do you believe it. A whole NEW ball for that price..?? Am I lucky dog or what!!
Now what do ya think of my new Woezel (prounounced as W-O-O-Z-L-E) and Pip ball.
I just love it and my boss and I decided to test the ball to see if it is doggy-proof.
WOOHAAH...it appeared that there is a big bonus inside this ball:
A GREAT RINKLE-TINKLE-BELL and I go nuts when something rings!
There ain't no doubt about it: I'm over the moon with my new ball.
Proofed to be doggy-proof and now it's my favorite toy to play with.
Boy I can tell ya, you can have heaps of fun for 20 cents.

Oh and it's spring in our garden, take a look at these piccy's:
...beautiful daffodils...
...and sweet smelling hyacints...

...coming soon...

Ted World Wide Show - Wiesbaden (Germany)

It has been a wonderful week...a week that went by too fast in my opinion.
I went to Germany where I attented ( as a visitor) the Ted World Wide Show
on Saturday the 17th of March.
As usual a great show. For teddy bear fans it's a real mecca.
Three large halls with approx. 275 exhibitors showing us their bears, other furry plush friends,
and much teddy supplies of course.
It's a great place to meet and greet the teddy junkies coming from all over the world.

When I arrived there was already a cue waiting to go in...

I did not take many pictures, but here are a few snaps:
This beautiful pig was available at the stand of Honey Pot - Prague
They sell works of several teddy bear designers.
A tiny cutie pie by Heike Buchner of Sunshine-Teddy's

Above and below beautiful creations from Bianca Unseld of BiBaButzebär

A beautiful sterling silver bowl with bears from the Dolls House Museum of Basle.

Above and below beautiful cats created by Diana Seifert of Bel Ami Bears
Apart from internet, I never saw her work at a show.
These creations are absolutely stunning pieces of art work.
She told me that it is a time-consuming process to create them.
No need to explain why...
...end of show...

I stayed in Germany for the rest of the week. The weather was simply too beautiful
and the Rheingau-Taunus area is a perfect area for long distance walks.
So both my husband and I and our dog enjoyed the rest of the week very much
by spending our time outside.

And it's of course needless to say that I love to visit this show.
The day passed by much too fast.
But beautiful memories and inspirations remain in my mind.

Special Note: For teddy junkies that never get enough of bears, there is another show coming up:
TEDDY BÄR TOTAL in Münster - Germany on the 14th and 15 of April 2012.
By origin it was the international teddy bear meeting of all international teddy bear meetings.
It was originally located in Hennef, moved to Münster,
than for a few years in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. And now they are back in Münster, which a lot of exhibitors and collectors very much appreciate.
Me included, bearcause I'm such a lucky person not living too far away from Münster city.
So I bookmarked an up&down daytrip by car in my agenda.
Meanwhile I'll save some pennies....or maybe I should switch on my money-print-machine

Have a happy weekend!!!

Random Stuffiezzzz......(part 1)

This blogpost contains random stuff.

Milly Me was launched in 2007 and in the beginning I used to design and create
clothes for reborn and lifelike baby dolls.
As a reminder of that period in my life, I decided to create a photo book with all the
reborn baby outfits that I made in the past.
Easier said than done...it was quite a lot of work to upload all the images.
It took me many many hours, but I'm very happy with the final result.
This was once my website's index picture, now on the front cover of my book.
I created this book with PHOTOBOX.COM
It's Europe's nr. 1 in on-line photo software and available for 16 European countries.

Why Photobox..?
  1. everything you do, you do on-line, no need to install photo software on you pc
  2. very user friendly and easy to use photo software
  3. from time to time great offers - discounts like " BUY 1 - GET 1 FREE "
  4. good quality
  5. your creations are saved on your account on the Photobox server
  6. fast delivery (receive your order within a few days)
  7. available in different backgrounds and themes
....it's all up to you....
In my case it was the A4 personalized photobook.
I choose for premium quality paper, a matt laminated cover and deluxe gift sleeve to stand the test of time. Oh and I removed the photobox logo and instead I added mine.

I didn't keep all the high quality pictures from the past and when you upload your images you'll see 3 different colored smileys: green, orange and red.
They indicate the quality of your pictures: the best, middle and worse categorie of course.
I had a lot of orange smiley's, so I expected a "so so" quality book.
But that was not the case.
On the contrary, the result was a fabulous book, beyond my belief and not what I expected.

Here are a phew shots:
The first page contains my first design.
....below and above some of my outfits...
After a while I started to create soft plush toys to match the outfits theme.
And this is where I started to set an eye for teddy bears, plush pals and other friends.
The rabbits above are from 2009. They belonged to one of my lastest designs.

Above the latest design of spetember 2009.
This is how your full window screen looks like when you finished your photobook.

Needles to say that I'm very happy with my book and it's a special memory
of the beginning of Milly Me.
And right now I'm working on a new photobook with my teddy bears (part one).
A couple of days ago I uploaded all images right from the beginning until now.
So my new photo book is up-to-date and whenever I finish a new plush friend,
I'm also creating a new page in my book.
To order my new teddy photo book I'll think I'll wait for a splendid offer on Photobox.
Usually in December....so it will be a lovely Christmas gift.

A photo that is also very special to me is one of my mum and my lovely little niece Fleur.
My mum is 81 and my little niece almost 8 months.
My SIL made the picture last friday. It really means a lot to me to see them together.
Both such happy ladies!!!
My mum is very active lady for her age.
She still sews her own clothes, does a lot of craft work, maintains her own household/garden and she updates rooms in her house from time to time:  like painting the walls etc.
She just finished the wall one on the photo wanted to keep it secret for me until I visited her.
But the picture above revealed it....ggg.....my silly mum.
And she adores her grand children.
It's always fun to play and fool around and act like loose canons, even when you're 81!!!
She has a great sense of humour and can be really "naughty" from time to time.
This runs in the family...she gave it to the next generation and from time to time the first signs in the third generation pop up as well.
All I can say is that I love my mum, she gave me her love for crafts!!! She's a fabulous teacher and she still gives me advice with tips & tricks. This generation really knows a lot.

And this is what I'm working on right now....
Do I need to "pre-sew" my teddy bears?
Well, not really, but I found out that I get a better result.
So it's my cup of tea to work like this.

I'm also working on the web page of my next piece. She should have been on-line...but as I love her so much myself that I decided to slow down a bit....just to keep her for myself for a little while.
.....but she will come.....

My garden: DONE!!! FINISHED!!! FERTIG!!! KLAAR!!!Let the Spring begin yea!!!
And as always every spring starts with lovely spring flowers.
And when I say spring flowers I say:

These shoes are made for......

...and then you probably say:

But you are so wrong. They were once meant for walking, now for nostalgic memories.
The tiny little shoes below are real childhood treasures.
As these little booties belong my brother and me.
Look how cute: red, white and blue, the colors of the Dutch flag.
I wanted to do something with them and got the following idea:
why not take pictures and frame them.
No sooner said than done, tadaaaa....... here are the framed pictures:
My brothers red shoes form 1972 or '73...
(...yeah yeah I'll return them to ya.....I swiped them from my mum's house...)
...my precious white ones from 1966, I think they are pretty prudish/coquettisch looking...
...and my favorite blue shoes. I think they are from 1967.
And now they hang in the hall downstairs between two doors, so I cannot miss them
and will look at them every day
(the only iTsy-BiTsy-TeeNy-WeeNy disadvantage: each passage makes me feel old....pffff....)

And the real baby shoes will be displayed in my living room on a special treasure shelf.

PS: need to be waxed first.....ggg

Studio update:
  • finished the 'lil' bunny and her photo shoot
  • created a new design
  • made a few website updates and new index page (not online yet...)
  • working on other craft projects (apart from the shoes above )
And I'm not only working in my studio these days.

Spring is coming (this spring bug is more intense than ever...LOL)
and there is much work outside waiting for my hands.
It's my favorite time of the year and I love to be outside after these long winter months.
And I'm not the only one who's jolly happy.
At the moment I feel like a bit like Jolly Jumper below.....
Spring has -  in my case -  a double meaning as the word SPRING means in Dutch JUMP.
Fabulous wonders of language....no further explanation required.
